Giant puma mauled farmer's car

06 January 2001

A farmer in Essex claims a giant black puma may has
chewed his car and savaged his beloved pets.

Don Gooding says he has discovered large teeth marks
and deep scratches on his Renault Megane.

The 60-year-old fears the killer cat, known as the Beast of
Essex, has also killed one of his cats and carried off
    another.

Mr Gooding, from Raydon Hamlet, near Harlow, says:
"Something with large, strong jaws made great scratches
and bites round a wheel arch."

John Hancock, from the Essex Big Cat Research Group,
said: "The damage was almost certainly done by a big
    cat."

The claims comes only days after Ananova reported a
story of a puma being blamed for killing rabbits in
    Montrose, Scotland.
